Fast & Furious wannabe driver took police on 27km chase that lasted over 30min

Muhamad Iskandar Juanda, 28, an unlicensed driver put the lives of his passengers-his wife and 20 month old baby daughter as well as other motorists at risk when he took a van out for a spin. He tried to evade police officers at a road block.

In an attempt to flee the authorities, Iskandar made an illegal turn and drove off at speeds up to 140km/h.

He ran 3 traffic red lights, went against the flow of traffic and sideswiped a motorcyclist, causing injuries.

Even when Iskandar was cornered by 3 patrol cars after a chase that was nearly 27km and lasted more than 30 minutes, he refused to give up. Instead, Iskandar reversed the van and hit the officers' vehicles, causing more than $11,000 in damage.

On Nov 19, Iskandar was sentenced to 6 months' jail, a fine of $1400 and disqualified from driving all classes of vehicles for 5 years.

Iskandar pleaded guilty to driving in a rash manner, failing to render assistance to the injured motorcyclist, driving without insurance and failing to stop when police told him to do so.

He was driving the van with his wife and baby girl on board along Punggol Field towards Sumang Lane at around 1.30am on Feb 1. There was a ongoing road block. Iskandar decided to evade the officers as he did not have a valid driving licence. He made an illegal turn from a filter lane towards Punggol East. Uniformed policemen pursued him in their vehicles but he continued to drive.

In order to escape, Iskandar drove up to speed of 140km/h although the limits in the area were between 50km/h and 90km/h. He ran 3 red lights as well.

He was driving along TPE around 2am when he sideswiped a motorcycle, causing the rider-Muhammad Zulfadhli Johar, 19, to fall. Instead of stopping, Iskandar continued to drive until he came to a stop behind a stationary taxi at the signalized junction of Yishun Ave 1 and Yishun Ave 8 about 10 minutes later.

In a final and unsuccessful attempt to drive away, Iskandar reversed and collided into the 3 police vehicles. Even though he was trapped, Iskandar refused to exit until one of the policemen had to break the driver's side window.

Mr Zulfadhli suffered multiple abrasions from the accident. He was discharged from Khoo Teck Puat Hospital that same day and given seven days of medical leave. No one else was injured.

Iskandar is now out on $5,000 bail and will surrender himself at the State Courts on Dec 3 to begin serving his sentence.

Netizen Warns about Man who Rented a Car, Got into an Accident and went Missing. Black Listed by Online Community

The Original poster has encouraged everyone to share this post in hope no one else falls victim and experiences the same bad episode.

An Online warning about the above person has surfaced and is being shared all over social media. Apparently a Netizen has posted his particulars in hope no other persons will suffer the same plight when dealing with this irresponsible man.

The warning is about this Muhammad Syahid Bin Mohamad Hussein. It is alleged that this man rented a vehicle, got into a severe accident and instead of reporting it despite being hospitalized, he went missing. Damages of approximately $6000 is being sort by the company who rented him the vehicle.

Below is the screenshot of the original warning.

Also posted in the social Media postings were images of the accused identity card.

Photos of the massive damages were attached with the online warning showing the extent of damages done to the car.

This goes to show that the impact sustained was severe enough to render a perfectly good car into such a horrible condition.

A frontal view of the damage caused by the accident was also attached. The company was merely seek the driver to get a report and statement on the accident but was unable to do so as they claimed he has gone missing.

A clearer image of the frontal collision with lights shows the massive internal damages sustained by the rented car.

All accidents which has resulted in injuries are required by law to be reported.

A photo of the broken car key was also displayed. Such was the horrid condition that even the key had snapped.

It is only reasonable that the man responsible for the frontal crash comes forward to answer for his actions and assist the company in making the repairs if he is found to be at fault.

Other Netizens have commented asking the rental company to make a claim against the driver in the small claims tribunal. He states that once the small claims tribunal has been informed, they will 'help' to find the culprit.
