Man unhappy of he was Singled out for a search by Police Shares video of his experience

A man upset that he was selected for a Random search complaint Publicly online about his experience and posted a video. The video starts with the comment 'SPF doing their so called work'.

The video starts with what appears to be a man filming police officers who were simply trying to conduct a search. He apparently from his tone was defiantly making a mockery of the situation he found himself in. 

In the video he is heard complaining that, "I am a citizen here, and this so called whatever (points to nearby Police Woman) ...*murmurs*. He also goes on to mention he is a resident in the area and he was going home but they wanted to, "check him until like that". 

When asked to put his belongings down, including his phone so a proper search can be conducted, he is heard asking, "for what?".

Its understandable that sometimes one may feel inconvenienced to be the subject of a late night search especially after a tired day outside working or having fun. However do note that the police are just doing their job and they have nothing personal against anyone.

What to do if YOU are subject to a search

1. Smile, be polite and cooperate. The Police officers are merely doing their job. They too are human and are making a living keeping the country safe.

2. Understand they do not know you personally and their job is to conduct random checks. There is nothing personal about it. There is no need to feel offended or irritate them.

3. The faster you cooperate, you will find your experience very smooth, very pleasant and very soon in no time at all you will be on your way.  IF YOU WASTE THEIR TIME, YOU ARE REALLY JUST WASTING YOUR OWN TIME.

4. Obstructing police officers from carrying out their duties effectively is against the law. Penalties exist to cover such behavior.

5. Know that the officers too are human and if you test their patience, they too can get irritated with you. 

6. Remember that the Police job is to keep Singapore safe. Something they have excelled at for decades. Lets be grateful to their service. Much as you may find it inconvenient to be 'checked' or 'searched' but remember that if you (touch wood) become the victim of a crime one day, the very first people you will come too for help would be the Police.

7. 'Sovereign' mindset simply cannot work in any society. In an absolutely lawless society without the rule of law, do not forget that anyone can come right up to you, commit all sorts of criminal acts against your person and there is nothing you can do about it. (Think about some parts of this world where there are absolute anarchy).
